Developed by Tri-Ace... They are all over the place this gen. Is anyone else making JRPGs these days? *tease*
"April 2008 saw the release of the blockbuster Grand Theft Auto IV, significantly boosting Xbox 360 sales this time last year."
That is actually not a bad reason. I expected much more PR BS.
Again with these was *insert popular game here* overrated articles...
No, MGS is not imo overrated. The series and genre were basically off the radar until MGS. Think of how many games use stealth-based action now from Tenchu to Socom to Splinter Cell. Next time you see Kojima, say thanks.
Another bit of bad LE hardware. Japan makes out so much better on these.

Amano artwork imo trumps a new paint job.
Edit: I didn't mean to sound overly negative. I just get tired of Japan getting what I consider better looking LE hardware.
They want to shout "our games cost less than the DS and PSP but are just as good!" But that's not totally true.
Otherwise, I don't think it's that bad a list compared to what we're usually shown like LiveFire wherein you must purchase extra weapons. For one, I'm rather surprised to see an old Working Designs game like Vay.
But I still think iPhone needs good original games that don't have better counterparts on other consoles. Put some funding into an iPhon...
I don't disagree, Statix. I've watched most of Hollywood's current rehash in original form, watched most anime in Japanese, and read some Goethe in original German.
But devs (the artists themselves) simply aren't concerned about us few connoisseurs when compared to the broader demographic. At least Kitase didn't seem to be.
"Do you really want to play Lord of the Rings Online on your console?"
Nope.
I won't be sacrificing the malleability of my PC for what will probably be a force fed port of an established MMO.
Didn't we just do this dance yesterday?
That's my main problem with ads. I don't get pop-ups here, but those audible ads annoy the crap out of me. I was forced to use a flash blocker or conversely let the kids in the house know I had not in fact won a new Nintendo Wii.
Not everyone is a Japanophile.
People who want the original Japanese with English subtitles are a niche within a niche. Most gamers don't really mind or care.
I think localisation of all cultural links to Japan is a little heinous, but necessary in some cases. The Phoenix Wright example is just plain superfluous mangling. But a game like Persona 4 thrives on cultural references and current events so it's needed or your target audience abroad can't properly relate. ...
For what it's worth, the current console MMOs (FFXI and PSU) both use keyboards and controllers (not a mouse). I wouldn't be surprised if upcoming console MMOs did too.
"So, if they don't release a keyboard / mouse peripheral, is the game going to be watered down? or what? I think that MMOs are iffy on 360, especially when you're used to the depth and freedom of the PC version. "
You're going in with the expectations of a seasoned PC gamer. Experience tells...
Well, you're bound to be annoyed if you have disproportionate knowledge of the subject at hand.
The tone of the list kind of irks me. I don't mind if you enjoy the Wii or play less than *insert acceptable gamer hours* a day, but you don't need to pretend you're better than gamers by wallowing in your wilful ignorance of the subject.
My complaint has less to do with ME2 than the fact that there's no story here at all. Strikes me as plain lazy.
But hey, if everyone else thinks it's newsworthy...go right ahead.
You said it. I don't know how well an MMO designed for the PC will do on the 360 or PS3 for that matter.
But console MMOs might have a better future in games like DCU and Champions Online since they're developed with consoles in mind.
I'm guessing it was the combat that hurt the overall game a bit. Japan doesn't cream over shooters like we do.
Can't wait for ME2 to début.
But really, a wallpaper notice?
You don't need a gold account. But the fact is, if you bought a 360 for online multiplayer in any form, you most likely have a gold account already. So I think the complaint is justified. You could easily cancel your gold account to take advantage of 360 MMOs, but who's actually going to do that and lose the ability to play online with the near entirety of the 360 library?
If it comes down to a choice between the few 360 MMOs and the hundreds of games (including XBLA), who's real...
"Go play wii fit it might help take a few hundred pounds off your fat ass b@tch."
That really was uncalled for. So it's reported.
Wolverine. Nuff said, bub.
That's the way it's been for decades now. The internet just makes you more aware of it. Japan always gets first pick at games developed within their borders. The devs there aren't going to make their loyal fans at home wait for our benefit. Same thing happens practically everywhere else.
Besides, we'll get most of those games mentioned since they have localisations plans already. The only one I don't know about is Demon's Souls.
I almost had to steal a PS3 I wanted MGS4 so bad...
Of course I'd never do that... Probably.
...I'd give it right back.
